Monarch Butterfly Characteristics
Monarch Butterflies are beautiful butterflies with orange, yellow, and black patterned wings. You can find their chrysalises on milk weed plants. The two bottom pictures are pictures of Monarch butterflies. Aren't they beautiful? You can find milk weed plants on farms, in your garden, anywhere on a milk weed plant. Monarch butterflies are common insects in lots of places in California. The city of Torrance has millions of them. 

Monarch Caterpillar Characteristics
Monarch Caterpillars are soft, fuzzy, black, white, and gray striped caterpillars. You will commonly see them eating leafs or crawling on milk weed plants. You can see Monarch caterpillar pictures at the top of the page. I have a milk weed plant in my front yard so I see lots of them everyday. At the very bottom of the page you can see a picture of Monarch caterpillars on my milk weed plant.
