The Kitten Palace
Lizzie and Riley Macenson are great with kittens. Lizzie, a fourteen year old teenage girl who's in middle school loves kittens and so does Riley, a 17 year old teenage girl who's a senior in high school. In fact they were a foster family for kittens and cats. This week Lizzie was out on her morning run and saw... a kitten!!She rushed over to pick it up. It was a grey, black, and light brown cat. It wasn't a kitten though, it seemed to be about 5 or 6 years old. she held out her hand and the cat sniffed it and licked it. She then gained full trust with the cat. She had no collar on at all so she picked up the cat in her arms and called Riley. Luckily, it was the weekend so Riley wasn't busy with school work. Oh goodness gracious! Riley said when she heard the news. Lizzie called a taxi because the cat couldn't wait any longer to get home it seemed. When they were home, Lizzie stayed with the cat while Riley went to the pet store to get stuff for the cat. Lizzie on the other hand called a friend who was a veterinarian to come and examine the cat. When her friend arrived she looked at the cat, Hmm... I think she's alright. She just has some fleas and I can easily take care of that, Plop! All done, she should be okay for another month before I have to come over again said Marrie (Lizzie's friend). When Riley got back Lizzie told her the good news. Great!!! Said Riley. The next day, Lizzie and Marrie and Riley all set up the cat's stuff. They got a collar and named the cat Ruby. They set up several cat towers in the cat fostering room. Then, they got some festive pictures to put up for the cat. After they finished that they put lots and lots of cat toys and they had one kitten already that they kept because they couldn't let her go. Her name was Sarah. They put some stuff up for her too so the new cat (Ruby) could feel comfortable with another cat her age. They seemed to get along really well because eventually Riley could take them to morning yoga for teenagers with pets. They were supposed to bring their pets to the yoga class to distract them from all the exciting things to focus on their pets instead of everything around them and to be calm because the teacher would be trying to distract the students by running around and eating right next to them. The 2 cats seemed o get along very well!!
